K9 Nose Work®
K9 Nose Work® is a dog sport modeled after professional scent detection dogs that is different than the sport of tracking. It builds on what dogs are already brilliant at: hunting for scent and figuring out where it's coming from. And the best part? EVERY dog can do it.
I have a soft spot for sensitive and "reactive" dogs, and I've watched this game change how they feel about the world. When it's set up well, nose work helps dogs feel more comfortable in their environment, which makes it a great sidekick to almost any behavior modification program.

Here's what to expect.
Private K9 Nose Work Lessons
Private coaching works for every dog and every human, whether you're brand new or three titles deep. It's especially good for:

Puppies, shy dogs, environmentally sensitive dogs, and dogs who aren't sure about new people

Stuck spots like box smashing, fringe alerting, or a dog whose mind wanders from odor

Teams sharpening up for trials: search area coverage, time management, and reward systems that fit YOUR dog

Lesson formats:

30-minutes: $70 (for established clients)

45-minutes: $100

1 hour: $130

1.5 hours: $195

Location: Lessons can be conducted in your home or at an indoor or outdoor location.

Dog limit: Lessons can be shared between multiple people and dogs.

Travel fees may be incurred if lessons are outside the metro-Milwaukee area.

Intro to K9 Nose Work
Group Classes
Every unit is 4 classes for $140. Classes run 90 minutes with 7 dogs max, and dogs work one at a time.

Who can do K9 Nose Work®?
Any dog. Any breed, temperament, or age. It's a wonderful game for dogs recovering from medical issues, seniors who still want in on the fun, and retired sport dogs who miss having a job. You can play at home all year, or take it to a high level if you love to compete.
Competition in the sport of K9 Nose Work®
Trials are where teams test their skills in real-world settings with blind hides (the handler doesn't know where they are!) in timed searches across four elements: containers, interiors, exteriors, and vehicles. Learn more at www.nacsw.net.
